Key dates and origins
Origin — 16th century
The mill site was founded and worked in the heart of the Vosges valleys from the 16th century, along the Mortagne river.
Modern era — 18th century
The mill appears on the famous Cassini maps, drawn up under the reign of Louis XV in the 18th century.
The adjoining farm — 17th–19th century
The oldest part of the farm built onto the mill was constructed in the 17th century, then enlarged during the 19th century.
Recent restoration — 2024–2026
The estate underwent a complete restoration to preserve local heritage. It now houses tourist accommodation and a museum space.
Opening is planned for winter 2026.
